Reflection, not prediction.

Why can’t you
get into flow?
BlueFlow reads seven days of records and finds the clues.

Notifications and the ideas in your own head pull at you, so getting into flow takes a while. For people who work alone, BlueFlow reads your daily records and finds what was going on when getting in was hard.

Flow is the state of being absorbed in the work in front of you. The psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi gave it that name.

  • It takes ages to get into flow→ BlueFlow picks out what your hard-to-start days have in common
  • Your time estimates keep missing→ BlueFlow shows, in numbers, when your estimates slip
  • Notifications and feeds keep pulling you away→ BlueFlow measures, automatically, how long until you put the phone down

Both free · the 7-Day Stay is in development · no fortune-telling

Each of these three problems has a cause.

It takes ages to get into flow Condition: goal clarity

With what to do still open, you spend the first minutes at your desk choosing. Getting in takes longer, and what you start stops halfway.

Your time estimates keep missing Condition: feedback

You never set your guess against what actually happened, so the same miss repeats every day.

Notifications and feeds keep pulling you away Condition: attention

Notifications, feeds and AI answers keep arriving. Your attention is gone before it settles.

If rest doesn’t leave you restored, that’s the recovery condition. None of this means something is wrong with you. One of your flow conditions has quietly slipped.

What BlueFlow is

Find which of five conditions has slipped. Run one small experiment.

As AI takes on more of the work, what’s left to you is judgment, and its quality and speed depend on flow. Flow breaks for structural reasons. BlueFlow reads the five conditions it depends on, shows which one has slipped for you right now, and hands you one experiment to try. No horoscope, no therapy, no lecture, no life plan.

The three problems above come from the three highlighted conditions.

goal clarity feedback challenge–skill balance attention recovery

Flow doesn’t come from receiving answers. It returns when your attention flows into one meaningful action.

Six Flow Types

Six ways flow scatters — and six ways back.

The free Full Flow Check (14 questions) reads which type you are closest to right now, and where the strain sits among five flow conditions. Six types, six condition states: 36 possible patterns.

  • Wind風

Quick and sensitive to information. Scatters when too much comes in.

Comes back by cutting inputs and returning to one thing.

  • Stone石

Not a willpower problem: the ground you start from has become heavy.

Comes back by moving for five minutes, or clearing one small spot.

  • Fire火

Strong forward force. Without a brake, it burns out.

Comes back by subtracting: deciding one thing not to do.

See a Fire sample report →
  • Tide潮

Tuned to people and the rhythm around you. Drained by replies and plans.

Comes back by drawing one small boundary.

  • Deep Water深い水

Thinks deeply. The deeper the thought, the later the move.

Comes back by writing it out, then one small test within 24 hours.

  • Forest森

Recovers through body and place more than through a screen.

Comes back by stepping outside and returning to the senses.

Find your type — free, 14 questions

A type is a reading of your current state, not a label for who you are. Your full result is free.

How it works

You keep the record. BlueFlow does the reading.

Take the Full Flow Check to see where you lean right now. Collect a record each day for seven days. On Day 7, in the Mirror Report, BlueFlow sets your records against your check answers and reads what makes getting in hard, and what to try next.

Full Flow Check

14 questions show your Flow Type and the condition most strained right now — what is making it hard to get into flow. As Day 0 of the 7-Day Stay, it becomes the hypothesis your week will test (recommended, not required).

The 7-Day Stay in development

One round a day. All you do is tap Start and Finish. Put the phone face down in between, and BlueFlow records how long you left it alone. The task, the minutes, depth and mood are extras you add only when you feel like it. From the first night, a short note written from your record alone is planned to arrive.

What you do

  • Tap Start
  • Tap Finish
  • Only when you like: the task, minutes, depth, mood

What BlueFlow does

  • Measures how long the phone was left alone
  • Reads your record each night and writes a short note
  • On Day 7, names what makes getting in hard, and what to try next

Rest days are fine: a rest day joins the constellation as a recovery day. A day you couldn’t get in stays as an unlit core, never held against you. It’s seven cores, not seven days in a row.

Mirror Report in development

A reading of your seven days: whether your time to get in shrank, what helped, and where your Day 0 answers and your record disagree. Your Day 7 numbers are always free to see. If you want to keep the full reading, pay once and get: where your answers and your week disagree, how your time to get into flow changed, how it compares with when the phone went quiet, how your estimates drift, where your detours come from, what your good days share, and a rule for next week — plus your constellation of seven cores as high-resolution artwork. What we promise — and what we never will.

BlueFlow helps you

  • Put words to your current state
  • Find where you are actually stuck
  • Choose one small action that fits today
  • Run a 7-day experiment and keep the evidence
  • Let a rest day be a rest day, not a failure
  • Regain a rhythm you can trust

BlueFlow will never

  • Predict your future
  • Diagnose, treat, or replace professional care
  • Promise flow on demand
  • Tell you the one right answer for your life
  • Keep you dependent on more answers
  • Hide your check results behind a payment
  • Turn a small payment into a subscription you did not choose
  • Shame you for a missed day

That’s why the daily check takes 30 seconds, each round asks for one task, and each day ends with one core — not a streak to protect.

Evening firepit on the deck at BlueFlow KATSUURA, a small forest retreat in the hills of Katsuura, Chiba, Japan

Origin

Born from a quiet place.

BlueFlow began at BlueFlow KATSUURA — a small, self-guided retreat in the forested hills of Katsuura, Chiba, about twenty minutes from the coast. Running it taught us something simple: attention returns when inputs fall away.

BlueFlow brings that practice online. And if a real environment reset ever makes sense for you, the house is there. It’s never the default answer.
